Bio

Coach Bruner spent four years as an educator and assistant football coach at Shelby High School before coming to Bucyrus in 2004 as the defensive coordinator. Coach Bruner is a 1997 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School, where he was a four-year letter winner in football and two-time captain of the team, as well as a three-year letter winner in track and field. Coach Bruner attended Otterbein University, where he received his undergraduate degree in secondary education, while lettering as an inside linebacker on the football team all four seasons and was chosen Captain of the 2000 team. The team he played on at Otterbein was the first to win seven games or more in the Ohio Athletic Conference in more than twenty years. Coach Bruner was also the recipient of the Harry S. Ewing Award for athletic, academic, and community services for his dedication for all four years at Otterbein University. Coach Bruner earned his graduate degree in educational administration in 2004 from Ashland University. He has licensure as a Social Studies educator, career-based intervention teacher, middle or high school administrator, and/or Superintendent. Coach Bruner is the Athletic Director, Dean of Students, and Head Football Coach at Colonel Crawford High School.
